Alcoholism
The
Morton Center believes that alcoholism is a phasic and multi-dimensional
disease that affects over 10 million Americans as well as their
families, friends and co-workers. Because alcoholism is progressive, we see
its development in phases: prodromal, early, middle and late or chronic.
It also moves in a holistic fashion affecting the
bio-psycho-social-spiritual dimensions of its victims. Alcoholism is found across all groups, gender, race, ethnic, socio-economic and age as well as it is seen through its many patterns. This has become evident to the point that we can no longer speak of one alcoholism but view this as a disease that has many forms. Alcoholics Anonymous - Louisville KY
