Here is a summary of the adult programs offered by The Morton Center.
Adult Children of Alcoholics. For adults who were raised in families where a substance or process dependency, or codependency, was present in one or more of the adults within two generations. This program allows individuals to develop a body of knowledge to match their personal experience in order to proceed with therapy and recovery.
Adult Co-Dependency Program. For adults currently involved with actively addicted, or not quite recovering, loved ones. The program provides an educational component (Concerned Persons), followed by a co-dependency therapy group focusing on developing self awareness, setting appropriate boundaries, and providing guidance with the goal of loving detachment.
Adult Intensive Outpatient Program. A program designed for clients to continue to be involved with work, family and daily living while they undergo intense treatment. Family participation in this program is strongly recommended.
Adult Structured Chemical Dependency Program. Provides adults who are either abusing or dependent on alcohol or other drugs an opportunity to gain knowledge about chemical dependency and examine their patterns of use.
Couples in Recovery. Offers relationship counseling for those couples where one or both in recovery from substance abuse.
Department of Transportation Assessment and Treatment. For those professionals engaged in “safety sensitive” areas of the transportation industry, e.g. HAZMAT drivers, airline pilots who are in need of assessment and treatment for substance abuse problems.
Health Professionals Treatment. Physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals in the health care industry who need treatment for their substance abuse problems.
Intervention Services. Intervention performed within the family structure or in the workplace can be an effective tool used as a first step toward treatment and recovery for alcoholics and addicts.
Parents of Addicted Adults. After completion of an educational program, this program provides guidance for parents who are confused about how to interact with or respond to their child who is a chemically dependent adult. This group focuses on appropriate boundary setting, expressing feelings and developing loving detachment.
