The Morton Center will begin offering a pilot Yoga for Recovery as part of its Intensive Outpatient Program, each Wednesday evening. Clients participating in the Program will have the opportunity to choose yoga rather than intensive art therapy once a week. Yoga and other mindfulness programs are thought to have a positive therapeutic impact on recovery.
“The Morton Center is pleased to offer yoga services that, in conjunction with therapy, can help our clients calm themselves and improve their clarity of mind throughout their lives, whenever needed,” states Morton Center CEO Priscilla McIntosh. “This added service helps us provide clients a full circle of care and to create an individualized treatment, as no two roads to recovery are the same.”
The Morton Center provides help and support to individuals and loved ones in breaking the cycle of substance use. In addition to its adult Intensive Outpatient Program, it offers professional counseling and therapy groups for individuals and families struggling with substance abuse issues in addition to prevention and education services.
All Morton Center programs and services are available for walk-in participants or through registration. For more information, visit https://www.themortoncenter.org/services/ or call the Morton Center Resource Center at 502-456-1025.
